About Me

Ms. Vitrano is a Buffalo native and Theatre Professional of fifteen years.  As an actor she has played numerous characters with the following local companies:  The Alleyway Theatre, The Buffalo Ensemble Theatre, Buffalo United Artists, Curtain Call Productions, The Irish Classical Theatre, The Jewish Repertory Theatre Co., The Kavinoky Theatre, Kaleidescope Theatre Productions, K!dSHowCo., Mobile Theatre Co., New Phoenix Theatre Co., Pandora's Box Theatre Co., Paul Robeson Theatre, Road Less Traveled Productions, Shakespeare in Deleware Park, Studio Arena Theatre, Theatre For Change. Theatre Of Youth and The Ujima Theatre Co.,  as well as performing at the Toronto Fringe Festival.  She is an Artvoice Artie Award winner in the Outstanding Actress in a Play catagory for her portrayal of Fae in Jon Elston's Private Viewing for RLTP, 2005.

And was also named "Best All-Around Actress"  Buffalo Spree Magazine 2006.

Lisa is also a playwright,  whose original short works SHEDDING THE SHADOWS, POP ODDITY, THE BARBIE COMPLEX and A PLAY ON AND OR ABOUT WORDS, were produced by Pandora's Box Theatre Co.  In 2003 Lisa received an Individual Artist Grant from The Buffalo Art's Council, to develope her original play FAST FORWARD.  The focus of the piece was teen pregnancy prevention and was performed by high school students in collaboration with Joyce Stillson of K!dSHowCo. April, 2004.  Additionally she has led many movement, acting and playwriting workshops, and has worked extensively as a teaching artist, co-providing education through theatre, movement and music to young children in the Buffalo Public Schools in collaboration with MUSE.  Her next project BITCH BARES ALL will be performed this Summer at the Buffalo Infringement Festival.  Coming up next season, Lisa can be seen in the following Road Less Traveled Productions:  GRENADINE (Curtain Up) and A LIGHT LUNCH (Jan. 2010).
